Management Accountant

Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and IT savvy, you’ll have experience with and a solid understanding of the fundamentals of large financial management or enterprise systems. Working collaboratively across the business, you will effectively engage relevant stakeholders, partner with the business and assist with driving optimal outcomes.

The role requires you to be experienced in month and year end financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. You’ll also provide analysis of financial performance and advice to the business. 

With a strong commercial mindset, you’ll be customer oriented with good communication skills.  What’s more, you bring along excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, demonstrate true leadership qualities and have the ability to influence and engage others. Working as part of a team, you can also work autonomously, contributing to the overall team goal. Electrical SCADA Engineer

We are looking for a forward thinking professional engineer specialising in SCADA and industrial control systems with proven ability of industry best practice to provide support to our Infrastructure Systems team.

In this hands on role, with your broad technical knowledge and exposure to heavy power and electrical distribution systems, your key responsibility is to provide technical support, asset integrity management and keep our network connected across the region. You’ll be responsible for the full electrical life cycle, from functional design through detailed electrical design, project management, PLC and SCADA configuration and commissioning.

Self-motivated, you will bring to this role strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, as well as demonstrate true leadership qualities. Working collaboratively across the business, you have the ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders and assist with prioritisation and planning to deliver operational excellence.

You’ll work closely in the field with operations and contractors. With the safety of our team, contractors and the wider environment at stake, it’s vital that you are committed to health and safety. What’s more, you’ll have the expertise to handle maintenance, troubleshooting and supervising maintenance activities, ensuring compliance across the business. 

Highly technical, you thrive in a dynamic environment with an ability to work across multiple projects coordinating a range of support disciplines. You blend this expertise with an innovative and proactive approach to problem solving. With these talents you’ll provide technical advice across our business to help us ensure reliability of assets. A developing professional ready to take the next step, you hold a bachelor or higher in electrical, instrumentation or similar, as well as post-graduation hands on work experience, including engineering expertise in SCADA and industrial controls system.

As a large component of this field-based role requires vehicle travel within and between Barwon Water facilities, a current Victorian driver’s licence is required.

A pre-employment medical, including health, drug and alcohol assessment is required for this position and part of our selection process. This role is subject to random medial, drug and alcohol assessments.

About the role

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary / post-graduate qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences or a related field

  • Extensive practical experience in community and stakeholder engagement
  • Relevant industry experience in communications and community education
  • Experience in leading a team and experience in working with executive leadership teams
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and multi-task

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of Barwon Water’s digital, online and multimedia presence, including developing content, strategies and governance frameworks for Barwon Water’s ‘owned’ digital channels including the website, social media and electronic direct marketing (EDM).

You will also provide an in-house graphic design service and develop written and visual content for a range of communications channels.

Key responsibilities of the role will include

  • Develop and implement annual Social Media Strategy
  • Review, edit and publish content on the external website to maintain consistency, quality and control of corporate messages, brand and reputation
  • Curate, edit and publish targeted e-communications (EDMs) including advanced customer segmentation, customer journeys and transactional emails
  • Provide an in-house graphic design service that includes, but is not limited to, the production of print and digital products such as documents, logos, posters, electronic newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, vector images and video.

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Public Relations/Communications/Journalism/Marketing/ with specialist qualifications in digital design and or digital marketing preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications and/or engagement strategies
  • Extensive written and verbal communication skills and digital design skills
  • High level organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and multitask.

  • Providing advice to senior management on media enquiries, issues management and strategic communications
  • Managing complex responses to media, social media and customer/community enquiries
  • Developing and implementing Barwon Water’s annual media plan and forward planning content across internal and external news channels
  • Developing written and visual content for Barwon Water communications channels, including internal intranet, website and social media
  • Managing production of Barwon Water Annual Report and other corporate publications.

Skills and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
  • Extensive experience in issues management and crisis communications
  • Extensive social media experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited guidance
  • Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
