Experienced in the full employment life cycle, you are a developing Human Resource generalist with experience in recruitment practices and a passion for getting things right the first time and delivering exceptional customer service.

Public Relations Officer

We’re on the hunt for a dynamic and creative Public Affairs professional. If you’re a self-starter who loves a challenge, enjoys a creative work space, and thrives in a dynamic and highly productive environment, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to the Manager Director, this role will see you as the primary contact where you will assess, manage and prioritise invitations, conferences and meetings to align with the Managing Director, Board and organisation’s objectives. You’ll be integral to the success of the Executive Leadership Team to enhance Barwon Water’s reputation through strong internal and external stakeholder management.

A key component of this role is to provide professional support to the Managing Director. You’ll do this through supporting a high level of productivity, anticipating needs, planning ahead, reading the moment and exercising sound judgement, confidentiality and discretion. You blend this with your innovative approach to problem solving, adapting and responding to demanding situations, making immediate decisions under pressure and shifting priorities.

You’ll support the Managing Director in engaging and communicating with staff, board members and external stakeholders. You’ll establish strong, collaborative relationships across the business, securing the trust of senior leaders and contributing as a business partner. Through developing a deep understanding of business priorities and challenges, you understand the politics of a situation and how the business functions as a whole, responding with effective proposed draft communications strategies focused on shared outcomes.

With your ability to grasp complex business issues and quickly translate them into meaningful and relevant communications for the Managing Director (written, social media, etc.), you will be responsible for communicating strategic leadership messages to all levels of the business to strengthen employee engagement and support business objectives.

Not only will you conduct background research, producing and preparing engaging presentations and reports, you will ensure the Managing Director is fully briefed for all engagements. You’ll monitor the effectiveness of activities, identify improvement opportunities and introduce solutions.

What’s more, you’ll bring along excellent interpersonal, organisational, social media and presentation skills and demonstrate strong leadership qualities. Risk and Compliance Officer

What’s more, you bring along excellent organisational skills, have an ability to influence and engage others and demonstrate leadership qualities. Risk and Assurance Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced Risk and Assurance professional who will lead a small team of specialists. A key challenge of the role will be to reposition the team and activities from transactional to strategic operational objectives through business partnering.

You will partner with the business, embedding processes and behaviours to ensure the effective management of identified risks, develop reporting to provide clear oversight into the management of key risks, and ensure Barwon Water is better than compliant with all regulatory guidelines, targets and requirements.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and management to drive continuous improvements in processes and protocols. Using external benchmarks and best-practice to make recommendations and implement actions aimed at managing risk and maximising business opportunities

Skilled in risk management governance and controls, drawing on your technical knowledge and in-depth understanding of relevant legislation and policy, you will assess risk impacts, providing the business with specialist advice. With a systematic approach, you will identify opportunities to develop, improve and embed best-practice processes, contributing to an uplift of capability within the risk and assurance function.

With your solid understanding of enterprise risk management and assurance processes, you will review and assess management systems, policies and procedures to ensure alignment with corporate and legislative governance.  You couple this with your strong commercial acumen, experience and understanding of governance frameworks and stakeholder management.

Leading assurance reviews and internal audits, providing recommendations to identify risk areas to ensure successful outcomes, you’ll also identify opportunities and the creation of proposals to solve complex business problems. Highly analytical, and a strategic thinker, you will coordinate analysis of risk governance, and monitor business compliance.

With a commercial mindset, you will drive innovative solutions and continuous improvement through collaboration with the business and stakeholders to identify and execute risk management planning and performance improvement strategies. What’s more, you’ll bring along excellent leadership qualities coupled with interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence and engage others across all levels in the business.

With a degree or higher in commerce, business or similar you’ll be a highly regarded professional with solid experience across strategic risk and assurance frameworks. You have demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills, together with evidence of best practices, and analytical aptitude. You have worked across relevant sectors, including utilities, infrastructure, industry, manufacturing, government authority or finance and have experience in internal audit.
