Work to upgrade Colac's main water supply pipeline is expected to begin in February 2011.
The pipeline is critical to ensuring a reliable water supply to Colac and district. It has served the region well over many years, but
has deteriorated to the extent where replacement of some sections is necessary.
About 6.2 kilometres of the 28 kilometre pipeline will be replaced. The original pipe, which connects the West Gellibrand and Olangolah reservoirs to Colac, was constructed in 1910.
This project is being delivered by the Barwon Water Alliance.
