Water supply interruptions

Where possible, we will always notify you of an interruption to your water supply.

We publish details of unplanned outages (repairs to damaged or burst pipes) and planned outages (scheduled maintenance).

Sewer blockages

Common causes of sewer blockages include:

  • wipes, nappies or sanitary items
  • food scraps
  • fat, oil or grease build-up
  • tree roots entering pipes.

Signs of a sewer blockage may include:

  • a strong smell inside your home
  • sink, basin, bath or toilet slow to empty
  • toilet not flushing properly or overflowing
  • toilet or shower drain making gurgling noises
  • sewage rising up through the inspection shaft or overflow relief gully in your yard.

If you suspect you have a sewer blockage, contact us. We will need to determine if the blockage is in your area of responsibility or ours. We may dispatch a team to investigate, or we may instruct you to contact a plumber directly. For more information, please refer to the customer guide.

Bushfires and your water supply

In the event of a bushfire, we cannot guarantee to maintain water pressure or an uninterrupted supply.

During a bushfire or on high-risk days, we may not be able to safely access water supplies or respond to system failures.

If you live in a bushfire-prone area, you should consider an independent water supply as part of your fire plan.
