A new water storage is planned for Apollo Bay.
Apollo Bay, Marengo and Skenes Creek are supplied with water from a small diversion weir on the West Barham River in the southern Otways.
The water is gravity-fed to the Marengo basin and nearby treatment plant.
Water is then filtered, disinfected and pumped to a high-level tank for Apollo Bay and Marengo.
A booster station on the edge of Apollo Bay pumps water to an elevated storage tank at Skenes Creek.
Planning is underway for a new water storage for Apollo Bay, Marengo and Skenes Creek. The larger storage will alleviate the pressure put on the town’s water supply during the summer tourist influx.
