WaterSecure Home
The WaterSecure Home program is a subsidised water saving program for householders.

A licensed plumber will fix minor leaks and fit tap flow regulators.
Water audit and retrofit
Sign up for a WaterSecure Home audit, and a licensed plumber will visit your home and:
- do a water audit — check all taps and appliances that use water inside your home
- fix up to 5 minor leaks (leaking taps or running toilets)
- fit water-saving devices — two 3-star showerheads, flow regulators or aerators on inside taps and a cistern weight for single-flush toilets.
The program is available to all Barwon Water customers.
Cost and value
The WaterSecure Home audit is valued at $180, but with subsidies, rebates and grants, you'll pay just $30. Eligible concession-card holders can apply for zero-cost audits.

Things to know
- Each property is eligible for only one government water audit rebate. If you have already received this rebate, you cannot apply again.
- You can choose to claim the rebate on a holiday home only if you have not claimed it on your permanent address.
- The retrofit allows for replacing 2 showerheads, fitting regulators to kitchen and bathroom taps, fixing up to 5 minor leaks, and a cistern weight in one single-flush toilet. The plumber can advise you of further upgrades, but these are not covered by the program.
- The cost of the program will be added to your water bill. If you claim the rebate, it will be deducted from your bill.
- Water efficient showerheads can be fitted in most, but not all cases. Some gravity-fed and instantaneous hot water systems are not compatible.
- The service is provided by G&S Complete Plumbing Services, a licensed plumber contracted to Barwon Water.
Information for tenants and landlords
If you are renting, it's your responsibility to seek your landlord's permission first.
The cost of the program is charged to your landlord's bill.
You will need to complete the landlord / tenant agreement form.

Appointments take about 1 hour, and are generally available 8am–6pm Monday–Friday, with limited appointments available Saturdays.
